mom’s gonna snap
Quick post because I really need to get to work. I want to get these designs emailed over sometime tomorrow or Wednesday the latest.
But I came across this on instagram and I think I might have to have it! Oh, and random thought – I’m posting all of my instagram photos here now (as well as flickr). I’ve had that tumblog for a while but I rarely use it. Now it will actually get some use.
It’s from clickinmoms.com and I absolutely dig it.

I’m such a coveter
Keep in mind, I am not actually getting any of these things, but they sure would look nice in our new place that we don’t have and haven’t found yet.
BLUE leather wing chair:
Drawers, drawers, drawers galore (luckily I’m typing the word ‘drawers’ instead of pronouncing it repeatedly):
An altar? Perfect! A spot to make prayers to the money gods.
And, just because apparently you can’t have too much blue furniture:

Living with Dogs
I love having dogs and can’t imagine living without them and I adore our dogs. In fact, I hope eventually we can have some land and a set up where we can have four or five dogs. Definitely not going to trade them in but it would be so nice to be able to have a set up like this (which is impossible with dogs):

And I do have a lambskin rug (not nearly as gigantic as this) which ends up staying folded up because the dogs get it so dirty. I guess that makes no sense considering the fact that we’re going to have dogs for a very, very long time.

Recycled Paper Love
Ooooh. I heart this Recycled Indian Paper Pad. Each piece portrays “everything from Bollywood posters to Indian washing detergent ads”.

High Fructose Devil Syrup
Care2.com had a great article on what exactly is the harm of using high fructose corn syrup. So, next time you’re at a party and the topic comes up, you can sound informed and basically like a genius on the topic:
Facts: High-fructose corn syrup is a sweetener produced by processing cornstarch to yield glucose, and then processing the glucose to produce a high percentage of fructose. It is primarily used as a preservative and sweetener in a multitude of food products. You should avoid it because of the following:
- High-fructose corn syrup has been linked directly to obesity, diabetes and metabolic dysfunction.
- High-fructose corn syrup elevates triglycerides levels, which can lead to heart disease.
- High-fructose corn syrup is simply empty calories with no nutritional value whatsoever.
- The environmental footprint of high-fructose corn syrup is exceedingly large.
- High-fructose corn syrup is the hellion child of the corn lobby’s satanic forces.
OK, so the fifth one might not be totally accurate, but it does drive the point home. And for extra credit you could mention that consuming high-fructose corn syrup in moderation is becoming near impossible, seeing as nearly everything from sliced bread to salad dressing now proudly contains the ubiquitous ingredient.
Thanks, care2.com!
