Ernold Same
Ernold Same awoke from the same dream
In the same bed
At the same time
Looked in the same mirror
Made the same frown
And felt the same way as he did every day
Then Ernold Same caught the same train
At the same station
Sat in the same seat
With the same nasty stain
Next to same old what’s-his-name
On his way to the same place
With the same name
To do the same thing
Again and again and again
Poor old Ernold Same
Oh, Ernold Same
His world stays the same
Today will always be tomorrow
Poor old Ernold Same
He’s getting that feeling once again
Nothing will change tomorrow

Rainy Day
Rainy day gloom so surrounding.
The rain should be cleansing everything away.
Doubts, fears, questions and rage.
But it’s only pulling me down today.
The chilled beauty is permeating my pores and my soul.
Gloomy rainy day.

Sleep
Whirling thoughts and unfinished tasks are surrounding me.
I’m lying alone, not wanting to sleep but my body tells me different.
Not enough of anything. Too much of it all.
The sounds around me are pulsing in my head, suffocating me.
Focus seems impossible now so I dream of sleep and leaving the day behind.

Autumnal bliss
This is from last year, but in honor of the first day of Autumn, here it is!
The autumn air silently slips in.
Hidden by the dwindling summer heat and energy.
It enravels the trees, cooling the leaves and dropping them into a new afterlife.
It slices the day into warm sun and cool darkness
and celebrates the transition with a full red moon that lights up the October sky,
bringing comfort, mystery and peaceful power.
The crisp air permeates my lungs as I take in a deep breath.
As the pace of life slows, I embrace the bittersweet celebration of the approaching sublime repose of winter and the departure of the sweet summer.
I take another deep inhale and sigh as I button up my sweater.

Autumn is here. I love the changing of the seasons…so much perspective and excitement.
Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.
